fundraising committee members Our Capital Campaign team for Jerry Forbes Centre for Community Spirit is chaired by John Holmlund who had the following remarks regarding this project:
“Especially in today’s economic environment, with the need in our community growing, we must ensure non-profit organizations are supported with the infrastructure required to facilitate their programs and, in turn, to better support the community.”

Marty Forbes has spent the last 38 years in broadcasting; as a writer, on–air performer, Operations Manager, Program Director and VP/GM. He has just ‘semi retired’ from the radio business but remains a consultant to Astral Media Radio GP. For the past 17 years, he has managed the Edmonton Astral operations, The Bear - EZ Rock and Team 1260 Radio. His interests include travel, motorcycle riding, and he enjoys his condo in Phoenix, Arizona. Marty stated “I’m extremely proud to be a FORBES. Dad started something ‘very special’ back when I was just a kid and I know he’d be totally knocked out with how huge 630 CHED Santas Anonymous has become over these many years. The Jerry Forbes Centre project is ‘very exciting’ and leaves a wonderful legacy to his memory!”
John Goode
John is a co-founding principal and partner of Belay Advisory: a benefits consulting and wealth advisory firm based in Edmonton. His firm assists employers with taking care of their employees along with providing entrepreneurs a balance of security and opportunity for their family and business.
Born and raised in Edmonton, John attended Northern Michigan University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing management. He entered the benefits consulting profession in 1989 with London Life that included career opportunities in London and Edmonton. In 1998, he established his own benefits consulting business that has progressively grown to become Belay Advisory. John is active within his industry along with the business and charitable community within Edmonton. He is currently president of Kids Up Front Canada and a member of the Jerry Forbes Centre’s Capital Campaign. His favorite priorities are his wife, daughter and son. Dennis Mozak
Dennis Mozak grew up in Edmonton’s Beverly neighbourhood and has built his company on the foundation of ‘doing what is right’, particularly when it comes to giving back to build our community. Dennis is President and CEO of Synergy Projects Ltd. and is committed to helping Santas find a permanent home. “The concept just makes sense,” says Dennis. “To have a home for the campaign and to make the most of that space by working with other charities is a model that business people can understand and support. This is an amazing city and I know that we all want to see Santas continue helping kids.” Dennis has also been part of the capital fundraising for the Mazankowski Heart Institute, Concordia University College and the Maier Centre for Children’s Autism Services. Mark Norris
Former Minister of Economic Development for the Government of Alberta, MLA for Edmonton-McClung, and past leadership candidate for the Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta, Mr. Norris is well versed in provincial politics, policy and negotiations. Mr. Norris is past president of GLG Consulting Ltd, a political and public policy think tank, responsible for developing and publishing public policy and bringing awareness to issues relevant to Alberta. T. Marshall Sadd
Marshall Sadd began his career in the insurance industry nearly 20 years ago after graduating from the University of Alberta with a BA in Economics, and he is currently President and CEO of Lloyd Sadd Insurance Brokers Ltd. in Edmonton’s westend. Beyond insurance, Marshall is an avid representative in the community, with volunteer engagements that include Past Director and Chairman of the Support Network Foundation, Fundraising Director of the Little Warriors Organization, Past President of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization, Northern Alberta Membership Chair of the Young Presidents Organization and now as a fundraising committee member for Santas Anonymous. In his free time, Marshall enjoys golfing, traveling and spending time with his wife and three children. Gord Whitehead Now approaching forty years in radio, thiry-two in Edmonton, Gord has had career stops in Winnipeg, Chilliwack, Lethbridge and Regina. Gord has been a volunteer with 630 CHED Santas Anonymous for 16 years and was one of the creators of the 630 CHED Radio Auction for Santas Anonymous. Throughout his career Gord has established several long term marketing relationships with some of Edmonton and areas' leading businesses. Gord has served on the Board of Directors of the Caritas Hospitals Foundation and was the Honorary Chairman of the Kids with Cancer Society annual fundraising walk and run. Gord is married with two sons and is an avid reader, golfer and fisherman. Gord’s extensive marketing and charitable experience make him a valuable voice on our fundraising committee. Brian Wilkes
Brian joined the 630 CHED sales department in October of 1992 when CHED was a struggling “Classic Rock” AM station and POWER 92 was just a baby. He is the only member of the current 630 CHED Sales Team to be a part of the transformation of 630 CHED into its News/Talk format on December 3, 1993. Brian continues his role as an account manager with 630 CHED and iNEWS 880AM, however with 630 CHED, the radio voice of the Edmonton Oilers and Edmonton Eskimos, he is 630 CHED’S “Sports Coordinator”. Brian is married with two children, aged 22 and 18. He has been involved with kids since he was 18 years old, coaching hockey, football, baseball and yes even teaching Sunday School. “Parents gave their time to me when I was growing up and I feel a great need to return that to the kids growing up today”.
Brian has been involved with 630 CHED Santas Anonymous since 1992, wrapping gifts, delivering gifts, dispatching volunteer drivers, fundraising, and searching for warehouse space every year. “It’s time to build something permanent for Santas and other charities, I’m excited to be a part of the Jerry Forbes Centre Fundraising Committee”!
